There are people in this world who are kind, charitable, advocates for justice, philanthropists, and people we simply consider to be good. But the bible emphasises the truth that God alone is good.
If a person is good by our human standards – which incidentally is not a bad virtue to pursue – but then ends up separated from God in a lost eternity, then what was the true value of their goodness? Human goodness is inferior to the goodness of God. He doesn’t choose to do good things, for goodness is an aspect of His very nature. He is the standard for what can be called good. God is good all of the time…
The Lord has blessed us exceedingly and abundantly above all that we could ever ask or even imagine. The revelation of God’s goodness must be the catalyst for us to extend His good works through our personal acts and deeds.
