For any living organism to grow, it requires the proper environment.
For the Israelites, the wilderness journey was a strategic move on God’s part to move his people from the infancy of their faith to a level of maturity, whereby they could experience the revelation of his glory and boldly march into Canaan and possess the land.
The conditions and methods employed were purposeful, albeit challenging, but God was with them. They stood on the verge of receiving the promise but found themselves unable to move forward.
