Our key text this week is taken from Genesis 28 and John 1:9-11.
Whilst asleep, Jacob encounters God in an unexpected place. It is in that place confirms his promises to Jacob and reaffirms the covenant he made to Abraham.
The promises he made to Abraham would now be fulfilled through Jacob. God breaks with tradition and chooses the younger brother Jacob.
We will explore the tension that arises when God shows up in ways we do not expect.
