Today we want to answer several questions that arise from Jesus’ prayer for us in our text: ‘What does it mean to be unified?’ and, ‘What glory does Jesus want us to have?’
Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was. His answer included the Shema found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and a line from Leviticus 19:18. The Shema was a fundamental declaration of faith for God’s people.
For any living organism to grow, it requires the proper environment. For the Israelites, the wilderness journey was a strategic move on God’s part to move his people from the infancy of their faith…
As Jesus arrives at the gate of Jerusalem, he encounters people desiring to be healed of the body and mind. His question and call were enough to enable one man to rise, realise and relocate.
