We highlight in the service today the two very distinct authorities as laid out in scripture.
The kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world (Revelation 11:15). The Holy Scriptures describe Christ as the light (John 12:46; Colossians 1:13). It describes the world – under the rulership of Satan the enemy – as being in darkness.
The call for the church to be separated and distinct cannot be more drastically portrayed. Light and darkness cannot mix, Christ’ church and the world, are simply not compatible. Jesus calls us to repent and follow Him. But the pull of the world is intense, and Satan is the pre-eminent deceiver. We must make it our solemn duty to focus on Christ and on being like Him in every way.
Don’t lose your focus.
