Prior to his role as pastor at the Peoples Christian Fellowship church in Broad Lane, David was kept busy singing gospel music. He has sung with musical greats like Al Green, Gloria Gaynor and has sung on the Stevie Wonder album entitled ‘Characters.’ It was no surprise since coming from a musical family and being exposed to gospel music every day, and quite literally from every room within the house, to find him singing lead at the tender age of eight to key songs within his church’s youth choir.
He became one of the lead singers with ‘The London Community Gospel Choir.’ David is delighted to be the recipient to date, of three Gospel Music awards for solo singing, including a BBC award endorsed and sponsored by Stevie Wonder. He has toured with the country’s most prolific songwriter and corporate worship leader – Graham Kendrick – and has been background singer on numerous worship albums.
Today David is co-pastor of a vibrant inner city church. He is committed to serving and influencing his local community in a positive way. He is a borough dean, police chaplain and chaired the Police clergy group. He has a very positive demeanour and likes seeing people happy and enriched. Pastor Dave has a passion for teaching the word of God and is the Principle at the PCF’s Bible School The Academy of Christian Life and Biblical Studies.
He has a degree in theology and a qualification in pastoral care. The spreading of the gospel holds a special place in our pastor’s heart, and it is his belief that evangelism and mission should play a more prominent role in the churches experience.
Pastor Dave is married to Donna, and they have been blessed with two daughters.
“My foremost objective is to live a worshipful life. I believe The Great Commission is related to kingdom living, and kingdom living is related to spiritual worship. I consider myself to be a worshiper of the true and living God, therefore, it is incumbent upon me to prioritise the proclamation of the gospel.”
