The crucifixion of Christ posed a profound challenge: it was a stumbling block for the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks. The Jews, after all, craved signs and wonders, while the Greeks prized wisdom.

Why does God so often seem silent? The problem isn’t that He’s not speaking – it’s that we’re not positioned to listen.

What we truly believe is revealed at the boiling point—when pressure is high and our faith is tested.In Luke 22:31–34, Jesus warns Peter, “Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.”

Our world often measures greatness by displays of strength — the physical strength of an athlete, the financial strength of a corporation, the political strength of a leader, or the military strength of an army.

The final chapter in Jesus’ earthly work, his coming to earth and his ultimate glorification, has its prelude in these passages. Let’s take a closer look at them to find our reason for celebration today.

When the Greeks said, “We would see Jesus (KJV),” they echoed the deep cry of humanity to encounter the living God. Jesus responded by speaking of His glorification—because to be glorified is to be revealed.

Today, we will explore the concept of single parenthood through the lens of Hannah’s journey – from deep anguish to joyful praise—as recorded in the first two chapters of 1 Samuel.
