Sunday 31st January – Trust In the Lord – Elder Martin Finegan

The book of Proverbs expresses order in creation, whilst Song of Songs expresses delight in one-dimension experienced by humans in the created order.

Ecclesiastes highlights that the creational order is sometimes confusing, yet the book of Job highlights the hiddenness of God’s purpose in creation and his activity in nature and human history in the face of suffering.

As we experience a season when so many people are sick or supporting someone in their family who is sick, we must establish our faith in two realities of God:

  • He is King and sovereign ruler of the cosmos and;
  • He is also our loving redeeming father (the cosmic and the personal).
