This Sunday we will explore the profound and timeless theme of personal choice in our relationship with God, drawing parallels between two pivotal moments in Scripture.
Joshua’s end of life declaration found in Joshua 24:15, lays out a clear challenge to the people of Israel to “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” This is a moment of decision, a call to action that requires a conscious and unwavering commitment.
We will then bridge this historical command to a personal, contemporary invitation from Jesus himself in Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
This image of Jesus patiently waiting and knocking at the door of our hearts underscores a fundamental truth: God provides the opportunity for a relationship, but He will not force His way in.
