Sunday 9th March – The Fourth Temptation – Pastor David Daniel

In John 6:1-15, Jesus performs the miracle of feeding over 5000 people with just five loaves and two fish. The crowd, amazed by this sign, sees Him as the promised prophet and wants to make Him king by force. However, Jesus resists this temptation and escapes from the crowds.

Accepting their earthly coronation would have satisfied the people’s immediate desires but would have compromised Jesus’ mission of eternal salvation.

Instead, Jesus chose the path of suffering, leading to the cross, ensuring the believer’s redemption from the consequences of their sin. We likewise are encouraged to resist temptation, trust in God’s greater plan despite the trials we face, and know that there is a greater reward ahead.
