At this time of year, our clients must have what they need to enjoy the season. Bringing them together to socialise and talk is just one of the things we do. Making them feel special, keeping them warm, and having something to eat are all part of our ethos.
Guests were welcomed with a warm cup of tea, coffee, or soup, and of course, no Christmas gathering would be complete without mince pies. The atmosphere was one of connection and care as attendees shared stories and enjoyed the holiday spirit together. Today, we served approximately 114 people, which was great.
Beyond the festive treats, the foodbank went above and beyond to provide essential support. Attendees received food bags packed with ample supplies to help them through the holiday season, including fresh meat, vegetables, fruit, and snacks. Additionally, clothing and toiletries were distributed, ensuring everyone had access to needed items.
The foodbank team expressed their gratitude for the support of volunteers and donors who made the event possible. “We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who contributed,” said a foodbank manager. “This is what Christmas is all about – coming together to spread love and hope.”
As we move into the New Year, the foodbank remains committed to supporting the community and always seeks more hands to join their efforts. If you’re interested in volunteering or donating, please contact us and help make a difference.
