Belief is the starting point, not the finish line. In John 8:31-32, Jesus speaks to those who believed in Him and calls them to go deeper:
“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
This year at PCF, our spiritual focus has been Mark 9:24: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” It’s easy to think that believing is enough, but Jesus calls us to the next level, which is a life of abiding in His Word. Abiding means remaining, dwelling, and living in His truth daily. When we do this, we embrace the vitally important reality of who He is and experience the spiritual transformation that only His truth can bring.
As we approach 2026, let’s move beyond surface faith and embrace habits that help us abide: immersing ourselves in Scripture, praying the Word, engaging in sharing truth, memorising and meditating, and living it out daily. Belief begins the journey, but abiding takes us to the next level, where truth brings freedom and life.
