Samson’s greatest tragedy was not losing his hair, his strength, or even his sight. It was waking up and not realising that the empowering presence of God had departed from him.
He had taken God’s blessing for granted too many times; Samson assumed he could carry on as before, only to discover that compromise had taken its toll.
This is a story of warning, but it is also a story of grace. Though Samson failed, God was not finished with him. Incredibly, his name appears among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11, reminding us that while disobedience has consequences, God’s mercy is greater than our failures.
This message challenges us to walk in obedience, guard our relationship with God, and never presume – make sure.
