God’s holiness creates a distinction between what is sacred and what is common. While sociologists may argue that things become sacred because of the meaning people assign to them, Scripture presents God as uniquely and inherently holy.

Our key text this week comes from 2 Timothy, Paul’s final letter to Timothy, written from a Roman prison as he anticipated his death. Paul encourages Timothy to be bold, courageous, faithful, and grounded in Scripture.
