In Scripture, the word often translated as “glory” carries the idea of weightiness or substance. God is not light, trivial, or casual. His holiness is dense with purity, power, and majesty.
When something has weight, it presses on you. It changes how you stand, how you speak, and how you respond. Yet we live in a culture that has learned to make everything light – light conversations, light commitments, even a light view of God. And still, Scripture presents us with a God who is anything but light.
He is High and Lifted up.
He is Holy.
He is utterly Set Apart.
He is blazing in Purity and unmatched in Majesty.
And when Isaiah saw Him, he did not applaud – he trembled.
This week, I want us to rediscover that weight – not so that we walk away afraid, but so that we learn to approach Him rightly.
